AN armed robber who paid back &pound;1 of his &pound;53million haul from the UK's largest cash heist is to be freed after serving the minimum possible jail stretch.
Lea Rusha, 49, who took part in the 2006 Securitas raid, will be released on licence in a few days after the Parole Board ruled him no longer a threat.
He was jailed for life in 2008 and ordered to serve at least 15 years before being considered for release.
A jail source said: "Lea is cock-ahoop about his parole decision and can't wait to be released.
"He says the first thing he'll do is to go down his old local and have a pint with his mates.
"Given the fact he's only paid back &pound;1 of the Securitas money they'll be expecting quite a night." Rusha, from Southborough, Kent, was one of a gang of masked gunmen who seized &pound;53m during the Bank of England cash depot raid.
Around &pound;21m has been recovered since the raid in Tonbridge, Kent, but more than &pound;30m is still missing.
