LETTUCE Liz Truss has revealed a little gem of advice the late Queen gave her when she was PM.
The former Tory leader, who lasted just 49 days in No10 - less than it took the Daily Star's lettuce to rot admitted she "should have listened" when Her Maj told her to "pace herself".
Lettuce Liz recalled the meeting at Balmoral in September 2022, just two days before the Queen's death, in a new memoir.
"We spent around 20 minutes discussing politics," she wrote of her chat with the monarch. "She was completely attuned to everything that was happening, as well as being typically sharp and witty.
"Towards the end of our discussion, she warned me that being prime minister is incredibly ageing. She also gave me two words of advice: 'Pace yourself.
"Maybe I should have listened." Lettuce Liz, 48, also described her "profound shock" over the Queen's death, asking: "Why me? Why now?"
