A HAPPY face may be all you need to get a shopping bargain.
New research has found that punters sporting a cheeky grin are more likely to get cheaper prices in stores.
Boffins reckon happiness is so infectious that it makes sellers drop their prices. Chirpy consumers haggled a discount of almost 10%.
But, angry or grumpy shoppers were left paying the full whack.
In one test, shops were asked to repair or replace a broken phone.
Some of the devices had a label which said "I am a happy person" which saw an average 8% price reduction handed out.
A spokesperson for the researchers from the Ruppin Academic Centre in Israel, said: "We suggest that 'buying with a smile' should be promoted as a strategy."
