THE husband of a Post Office branch manager left with a criminal record has said it would "mean the world" to have his late wife's name cleared.
More than 700 Post Office branch managers in the UK were prosecuted between 1999 and 2015 after the Post Office's faulty Horizon accounting software made it look as though money was missing from their shops.
Caren Lorimer worked in a branch in Kilmarnock for 17 years before a 2008 audit of the Horizon computing system found a £38,000 shortfall.
She ended up pleading guilty at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court in 2009 to a charge of embezzlement and was handed a community service order requiring 300 hours of unpaid work.
