CITIES BID TO BAN ROCKETS

A BID to ban fireworks across Scotland's two biggest cities has been launched after yobs attacked police on bonfire night last year.

Scottish Green councillors in Edinburgh and Glasgow want their cities to become Firework Control Zones.

This would make it illegal to let off fireworks at certain times.

Organised public displays would not be affected.

It comes after police and fire crews were injured in attacks from youths in Edinburgh and Glasgow on Bonfire Night last year.
