Hong Kong jewellery designer Austy Lee can always be relied on to draw from extraordinary sources in pursuit of artistic inspiration. In his past jewellery collections, Lee’s interest has been piqued by everything from the gods of Norse mythology to Mongolian falconry, psychedelic rock, eroticism and 1970s punk culture. For his latest creation, the Sandadoragonboru Brooches from the Furinkazan Collection, Lee’s imagination was fired by the mythical dragons of Japanese folklore—highly appropriate subject matter as we enter the lunar Year of the Dragon.
