After finding a home on the bay between Southampton and Sag Harbor, a Long Island couple wanted to create a family hideaway at the beach. To turn the original 1970s residence into their ideal seaside refuge, they enlisted Michael Cox, principal of New York-based Foley & Cox Interiors. "They thought the house would be a renovation. However, the project evolved to a new build house that is gracious enough for their family needs," explains Cox. "The new architectural layout embraces the water view while emphasizing casual living on the beach."
