Spending most of their time overseas, the owners of this Dublin apartment wanted to bring the vibrancy and colour they were familiar with into the design of their occasional abode in Ireland. In order to make sure all of the work ran smoothly and they achieved the look they were after, they enlisted the help of interior designer Sara Cosgrove from Sara Cosgrove Studio.
We actually started on this project in December 2019, but thanks to Covid, what was meant to take six months actually ended up taking three and a half years and we finally finished up in spring of this year,' comments Sara.
The owners wanted to create an interior that reflected their love of colour, but they also wanted a restful space that offered a sanctuary where they immediately felt at home when staying here.
'I am always delighted when clients embrace colour. We chose a selection that would evoke memories of sunnier climes, so a combination of blues and warming accents of red, orange and yellow.
"They also like a bit of glamour and weren't afraid of mixing and matching pattern and textures which is an integral part of how I like to design a space,' adds Sara.
All of this can clearly be seen in the open-plan living room, where Sara has positioned a bespoke, handmade entertainment unit painted in Little Greene Slaked Lime, to house the Bang & Olufsen TV and insert gas fire, which also then creates an eye-catching focal point within the space. Inspired by Sara's love of vintage perfume bottles, this Art Deco-inspired unit sets the tone for this luxurious space.
