Beauty is often found in simplicity. We need to look no further than nature to see that undeniable truth.

This home offers a well-considered biophilic design approach - a very real connection to the outdoors. Janik Dalecki, from Dalecki Design, was part of the team that created the blueprint. "The ground floor was meticulously planned to encase and 'hug' the backyard and provides many moments of connection and direct access to the outdoors to encourage the use of the outdoor spaces as much as the indoor spaces," he notes.

Not only were mature trees retained onsite, they also became part of the overall design, creating leafy spaces to offer respite in Perth's steamy summers.

It's also a family home and aptly addresses the need for privacy, with separate wings for adults and kids, and central spaces for the family to gather. This is wrapped up in an astute and highly functional package, which is the ultimate gift for family living in style.

The dwelling is a treasure trove of spaces to explore. Your journey begins when you cast your eyes up to the expansive double-height entrance, and views of the garden create a relaxed feel as soon as you enter. The open-plan living spaces are the hub of the home. It's here, says Janik, where the occupants spend most of their time. "The family enjoys a lot of time together over shared meals, puzzles and conversations. It's also where the parents can enjoy a cup of tea while watching the kids play in the backyard lawn area," he says.
