When architect Pete Kennon of Studio Kennon kicked off this project in Melbourne, he designed a significant renovation to satisfy his clients’ requirements for more space. “The first brief was for a big, new house done in stages with tidy-ups to make it more liveable in the meantime. We designed the house in a way that could be achievable for them now, with the possibility of a grander renovation later,” says Pete. As the project progressed, the owners, Robbie and Sarah, began to re-consider whether such a big extension was necessary. “There is enough space and rooms that suit us as a young family right now,” says Sarah. “We are lucky there are so many options for potential extensions down the track if and when we feel the need.”
