Saiyami Kher is in a happy place right now

Cosmo: What were you up to right before we started this chat?

Saiyami Kher: “A little before this chat, I was scampering and getting ready to reach another part of the city [she’s in Mumbai as we speak], I was cycling indoors on this stationary bike.”

C: Is it true that you cycle or run back while commuting to and fro from a shoot?

SK: “I started this during the shoot of my first film, Mirzya; we were in Ladakh and I was not fit enough to run back from the set to where our tents were. So I’d jog back. While you’re shooting, it is difficult to find even an hour—especially if you’re in Mumbai. So I felt that the most convenient thing to do is to ask my driver to bring my car to a convenient place, and I used to run about 5k. During R Balki’s [director] Ghoomer, it was different—I play a cricketer in it, and Balki sir would be like ‘You just run to set and come; that’s your prep’. So I’d do that every day.”

C: You’ve mentioned in an interview that you’ve manifested the dream of portraying a sportsperson on screen. Do you believe in the power of manifestation?
