The hot summer breeze was starting to cool. Anjali was having some warm idli for breakfast with Grandma, when she said, "I wish every morning would be just like this!"

"My dear, enjoy till it lasts," said Grandma.

Anjali thought about what grandma meant, and soon she realised that school vacations were over and school would start after the weekend ended.

"Vacations are over! I do not want to return to school anymore," said Anjali, bitterly.

"I thought you enjoyed going to school, Anjali. You loved playing with your friend Aditya, didn't you?" asked Grandma, confused.

"Nani, he is changing schools as his family is shifting to Pune. Now, I don't like my school as it won't be fun anymore.

I had only one friend and he has left," she cried.

As their breakfast was over, Grandma didn't say anything and wondered how she could cheer up Anjali.

The afternoon was Anjali's favourite time of the day as she would watch the afternoon light brighten her room.

"How pretty the sky looks!" exclaimed Grandma, walking inside Anjali's room.

But Anjali did not respond as she was busy wondering how she could ever go to school.

"Nani, can I just never go to school?" she asked, wistfully.

Grandma asked, "Why, my dear?"

"Because school will never be the same again!" said Anjali
