The beloved antiestablishment showman — who charmed the hippie generation with his kid brother Dick on the counter-culture Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour — died last month at 86, still bitter toward the disgraced former president for convincing CBS to cancel the popular variety show in April 1969 after 72 episodes.
