Premier League 2024 season saw SRH smash a record 277/3 in 20 overs. SRH broke the record for the highest team total posted in the competition’s history. In response, the Mumbai Indians managed 246/5, which is the highest score ever by a team that batted second in an IPL match. For SRH, Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen smashed 62, 63 and 80*, respectively. For MI, Tilak Varma scored at the top with 64. Notably, the match saw a record 38 sixes being smashed. It’s now the most in a single T20 match. Before this, 33 sixes was the record in an IPL match, and 37 was the record in T20s.

SRH batters slammed a total of 18 sixes versus MI. Australia’s Head was at his best. He smashed three maximums in a 24-ball effort. His strike rate was 258.33. Abhishek hit a 16-ball fifty, SRH’s fastest in IPL. He ended with a 23-ball 63, smashing seven maximums. Aiden Markram hit 42* from 28 balls. His innings had one six. Klaasen hit his second successive fifty. He struck a 34-ball 80*, slamming seven sixes. Altogether, SRH batters managed 18 sixes.
Mumbai then hit 20 sixes to take the tally to 38 in the match. For MI, Rohit Sharma hit three sixes in a 12-ball 26. Fellow opener Ishan Kishan hit a 13-ball 34, clobbering four sixes (SR: 261.54). Naman Dhir hit two maximums in a 14-ball 30. Varma slammed six sixes in his 64. Hardik Pandya (1), Tim David (3) and Romario Shepherd (1) also hit sixes.
