Mask The Smell
Carp-Talk|Issue 1189

His latest session on Bluebell Kingfisher Lake, Northamptonshire, saw Terry Fitzgerald make it five forties in five trips with this 43¼lb common (below). Richworth S-core boilies produced the goods for Terry, who fished on a clear area where he baited with five kilos of low-oil pellets and free offerings. The hookbait was offered on a rig including an Avid Carp Drop-OffInline lead coated with clay to “mask any smell from human fingers”.

SOCIAL RESULT

Steve Nunn from Tibenham, Norfolk, caught this 44lb common (above) during a weekend social session with four friends on Sandhurst Lake, Hampshire.

The 35-year-old electrical engineer used Sticky Krill boilies to tempt his only fish of the two-day session, which picked up a bottom bait presented blow-back style on a helicopter rig comprising a size 7 ESP Raptor Big T hook, a Tungsten Loaded hook link and a 3oz pear lead. Steve found success in a silty depression at 70 yards range.
