Through Hell and High Water
Rock Sound|February 2022
At the beginning of 2020, it looked like Lorna Shore were dead in the water. Now, they are one of the most exciting metal bands on the planet. In their debut cover feature, they chart their incredible journey, and look towards a year like no other...

Life is built out of moments. Hundreds upon thousands of periods that make up our day to day life, fitting together like endless jigsaw pieces. Some are big, some small, some happy and some sad. Some get forgotten instantly, and others stick with us for years after they happen. Then there are the moments that define us, shaping who we are and who we want to be. Those moments change the trajectory of where we are heading and shift every other aspect of our lives simply because of how powerful they are. It's those moments that you need to cling onto when they present themselves, and use to propel you forwards into the unknown.

One such moment took place on June 11, 2021, when Lorna Shore released 'To The Hellfire'. Serving not just as a return to the limelight for the band following a turbulent 2020 but also the moment they revealed their new vocalist Will Ramos to the world, it's a track that has become so much more than just a masterclass in modern deathcore. It's a moment in time that has brought the band's decadelong journey to an entirely new head.

The band have since dropped their EP ...And I Return To Nothingness', been announced as openers on Bring Me The Horizon's European arena tour, upgraded the size of the rooms on their upcoming UK tour three times (and counting), and become one of the most talked-about and celebrated bands in extreme music.

And the funny thing is, none of this was ever their intention. They were simply trying to survive.
