 The Studio 8 Designs presided over by Architect Arjun Marwaha has fashioned a gem out of a bleak space. It is a place full of fun and thrill where you can kick up your heels and dance. While expressing the factors that lead to such an attractive creation, Arjun said, “Our client, Swathi Group, approached us on December 24, 2015. They wished to bring back their customers to the taverns of a bygone era. Similarly, they wanted to create a place in today’s world for people to relieve themselves of their mental exertion. Therefore, we have presented the concept of ‘safe haven’.” 

A perfectly named gastro pub, ‘Safe House’ is an identifier. It’s what lends the place its individuality and provides the first impression. Arjun and his team chose the name ‘Safe House’ since both the ambience and purpose of the project replicate the same. It has been designed to make you feel cozy and like a rebel at the same time. According to Arjun, ‘Safe House is nothing but a safe “haven” to take you away from your daily grind.’ It is located on the ground floor and covers an area of 3180 sq ft.

The entire tavern encompasses open spaces that flow into each other. It was not a tailored site, but its complexity excited the team of Studio 8 Designs to explore their creative impulses all the more. Arjun, while sharing his experience, says, ‘When we started designing, the amalgamation of these spaces seemed a daunting task but as we started merging them, pockets were being created which further evolved into definite zones in the pub. For example, the pocket with the U-shaped Chester designed sofa caters for a large group. Likewise, many such zones developed which only enhanced the spaces in the pub.’
