Sandip Jha, the client, wanted lavishness at its finest. And who could perform this task better than Farukh Lokhandwalla and his team? Hence, he approached A.L.F.T. to design the Corporate Office of Sandip University, which now handles all the student traffic in the western zone with 8 major departments.

This ‘uber-luxe’ workplace covers 1.5 floors with a carpet area of 9000 sq ft. According to Farukh, ‘An office design is considered to be “the luxury of architectural elements”. Luxury doesn’t necessarily equate to more expense. It is in the finer nuances of planning and detailing.’ Marble, wood and metal revamp the executive areas in the office. The workstations are defined by clean lines and sharp materials.

This office space is located in a mixed use high-rise building in Mumbai and both the interiors and the building are designed by A.L.F.T. At the reception, a monolith reception table is carved out of a single piece of white Corian highlighted by an apron, finished in white onyx marble and the white flowers are positioned to accentuate the same. Based on programmatic allocation of space, the office is divided into different sections, namely, the reception and waiting area, meeting rooms, meeting cabins, conference room, chairman’s cabin, chief managing director’s cabin, two executive cabins for the senior officers and the workstations.
