Roman luxury house Bulgari has interpreted its Serpenti motif several times in partnership with talented designers since 2017. Dubbed Serpenti Through the Eyes Of, previous collaborations in the series have included ones with fashion designer Yoon Ahn of the brand Ambush and London-based designer Mary Katranztou and her namesake label, pushing the limits of what the iconic snake motif could represent and be moulded into.
This year, the brand has come together with Casablanca, a contemporary fashion brand run by French-Moroccan creative director Charaf Tajer, for a playful, yet chic metamorphosis of the Serpenti. To understand what this collaboration is about, one has to look at the influences of Casablanca, a brand which combines the essence of après-sport with the luxury of the Mediterranean. The resulting capsule collection, which features seven designs, is at turns sporty, fun and colorful. “With Bulgari, we share the same love and respect for timeless codes and the ambition to interpret them in new ways. This is the prism we have played with for this collaboration. The collection is both modern and classic at the same time. Serpenti has a thousand-year-old iconography behind it and we wanted to bring it back once more but in a modern way, playing with its aesthetic features,” says Tajer.
