Madrid-based luxury brand Loewe was founded more than a hundred years ago in 1846, but it's not a stretch to say that it has stayed modern and relevant under the leadership of its current creative director Jonathan Anderson, who joined Loewe nearly a decade ago in 2013. Today, Loewe is known for an almost obsessive focus on craft, in particular its expertise with leather something which is due to its beginnings as a leathermaking collective.
A true proponent of celebrating craft in the modern age, art is something that features prominently both in its collections and in its stores - including the exquisitely designed Casa Loewe in ION Orchard. Loewe also holds an annual Loewe Foundation Craft Prize that rewards international artisans, with the prize winner of the fifth edition being announced in Seoul at the end of June 2022. It is also known for its collaborations and for uplifting contemporary culture. Among its collaborations that frequently sell out are a partnership with Japanese animation company Studio Ghibli collections inspired by animated movies Totoro and Spirited Away have been released thus far- and a seasonal summer collection with Paula's Ibiza, an iconic Ibiza boutique.
