Kangana Ranaut is a force of nature. Brutally honest and effortlessly stylish, the face of Grey Goose at Cannes Film Festival 2018, cements one fact for all to know: she really is the Queen of Bollywood. In a candid chat, our July cover star talks about the things that have shaped her, the kind of men she’s averse to, and why women need to stick together.
Kangana Ranaut has the impatience of a child. We are shooting with her for the Cosmo cover, in the picturesque resort town of Atibes, France, and she wants it all done yesterday. She swishes her flouncy gown about, throwing her head back in laughter, the French Riviera sun creating a halo around her defiant curls, and pauses only to change outfits (in under four minutes each, BTW).
We wrap up six photographs in under two hours, a record breaking feat. But if we had been worried before about how these pictures would turn out, it was needless. Because Kangana, even at Speedy Gonzales speed, knows exactly what she is doing, working flattering angles like the seasoned model she is, and prompting our Italian photographer to shout out ‘bellissimo’ every few minutes.
