"We want to make learning relevant for the Millennials, so we are launching an App for them."

"Learning has to be gamified, so we are bringing in games in the LMS."

We often hear such statements and more often than not, even ratify when we are faced with the challenges of building a culture of continuous learning in our organizations. And truly, they are not completely off the mark. It is a given that the learning landscape is changing and it is about time!

The theory of learning has evolved over time from the pedantic process of information download to a class full of less eager participants to the instructional learning process - where you blend different learning styles to capture the attention of most of your participants. It moved on to experiential learning where we used activities, games and adventure to drive in key learning. And, as it evolves further, since we as consumers have changed as well - of products, services and content, it needs revised focus.
