Abhay Deol The Silent Storm!
Exhibit|September 2016

Basking in happy vibes from the success of his latest film “Happy Bhag Jayegi”, Abhay looked suave, as always, at the cover shoot of our magazine.

Abhay Deol The Silent Storm!

Ecstatic to make a return on our cover after totally smashing it the first time, the “Politically incorrect dying breed” that Abhay is, looks fantastical yet again on the cover. Promptly so, he answered some of our nosy questions, made deliberately to take a peek into his life..and everytime he bowled us with his out-of-the-box answers. We had a fun conversation with him about what makes him the person that he is, tried to know what the “Quintessential Abhay deol” is like and a whole lot of interesting trivia, obviously!

EX: WHAT WAS YOUR CHILDHOOD LIKE HAVING GROWN UP IN A GLAMOROUS INDUSTRY?

AD: Growing up within the glamour industry puts you in a position where the fame associated with glamour can affect you whether you are at the centre of it or not. That's an early insight enjoyed by a privileged few. My upbringing was pretty sheltered, I can see now that my parents made it a point to keep me away from it as a child, so that I may have a 'normal' upbringing. While it wasn't entirely normal, it was nor very different from an average middle class kid in a big city.

EX: CAN YOU RECALL AND SHARE THE MOMENT YOU DECIDED TO BECOME AN ACTOR?

AD: My earliest memory is from the age of 5 or 6 – I was on the stage dressed as 'Krishna' and I remember thinking, 'this is fun!' That was probably the beginning, much before I knew it was!

EX: HAVING THE “DEOL” NAME ATTACHED TO YOU BRINGS BAGGAGE. HOW EASY OR DIFFICULT WAS IT TO PENETRATE THE INDUSTRY AND CREATE A NICHE?
