I'VE GUTT A GOOD FEELING!

NEW Worthing boss Chris Agutter says he is not daunted by replacing club legend Adam Hinshelwood.

Former Brighton centre-back Hinshelwood spent seven years at Woodside Road, winning the Isthmian Premier title in 2022 before leaving to join York City in February with the Sussex side on the cusp of a second successive top-four finish in National League South.

Coaches Aarran Racine and Dean Hammond oversaw Worthing’s play-off final defeat to Braintree, but Agutter will now take the reins after being lured from Step 3 Hastings United.

The 36-year-old worked with Hinshelwood in Brighton’s academy and was also his assistant during a previous stint at Hastings, and hopes the pair’s shared philosophy will prevent any drop in standards.

“The way I operated and the way I delivered at Hastings and Brighton was very much how Hinsh has done things here,” says Agutter. “That’s why I got the job to be quite honest.
