After 12 difficult months for gaming in Macau, May 27 2015 signalled a new beginning with the opening of two new properties in Cotai – Galaxy Phase II and its sister property Galaxy Macau. The first of eight casinos due to open by the end of 2017, it is hoped that Galaxy II and Broadway will spark a resurgence while fulfilling the Macau government’s wish to provide far greater diversity in the shape of non-gaming attractions.

However, the recent downturn has changed the landscape in this unique part of the world with the junket business suffering more than any other and a number of VIP rooms being forced to close in Macau over the past 12 months.
