去年11月，随着首架国产大飞机的试飞成功，复合材料作为航空航天领域最重要的新材料之一，也再次成为人们的焦点。由于大规模采用先进材料，C919整体减重7%左右。研制国产客机，关键之一就是提高先进材料的应用水平，而复合材料用量是判断民用客机先进性的重要标志之一。在《复合材料助力国产大飞机翱翔》中，复合材料专家肖军教授介绍了复材在航空航天领域的应用发展历程以及在C919上的应用情况，并对复材未来面对的应用挑战和趋势做出了分析。
无论是空客A320neo、波音737 MAX还是中国的C919，上面都装载着CFM International的LEAP航空发动机。LEAP发动机能提供更高的燃油效率和更低的维护成本，这让CFM迄今已经获得了近3000台的发动机订单。作为升级的重要环节，该公司计划在2018年将LEAP发动机的产量翻番至1100至1200台，并且到2020年前实现2000多台的年产能目标。这要求其发动机涡轮叶片供应商必须提高生产效率，以帮助CFM实现其增加发动机产量的目标。请见本期《加速涡轮叶片的生产》。
